John Kiang is a partner of Kiang Immigration Law. In his practice, John provides comprehensive immigration legal services for individuals, families, and employers. He recognizes the significance of the immigration process in each client’s life and works relentlessly toward success in every matter he handles.
Prior to joining the firm, John worked in the real estate finance industry, where he gained detailed knowledge of finance, real estate investment, asset management, and real estate development. In law school, John developed strong written and oral advocacy skills and was a member of his law school’s appellate litigation clinic. Through this clinic, John provided pro bono representation to an indigent client and presented oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
John’s practice spans the full range of immigration law issues, including but not limited to family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, waivers of inadmissibility, delay litigation, consular matters, investment visas, and appeals. He serves clients from across the United States and around the globe. John especially enjoys resolving complex immigration issues.
John regularly represents clients in United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) processes, before immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, and in federal district and circuit courts. His quick thinking and strong written and oral advocacy skills benefit his clients regardless of the venue in which he represents them.
In his immigration practice, John knows that a successful case starts by getting to know the client and developing a deep understanding of the client’s personal and immigration history and their long-term immigration goals. Clients appreciate John’s friendly and approachable manner and his ability to communicate clearly and effectively. His fluency in both English and Mandarin helps to put clients at ease. John’s attention to detail and communication skills enable him to explain complex concepts in terms that clients can easily understand.
John recognizes that he is often helping with one of the most consequential decisions in his clients’ lives and finds it deeply gratifying to guide them through the immigration process. When immigration issues occur, he knows that clients often feel helpless and powerless in dealing with the government. John enjoys championing his clients and helping them obtain the relief that they deserve.
When he’s not working, John enjoys spending time with his wife, their three children, and their dog. He loves being a father and feels that fatherhood is one of the most fulfilling experiences in his life.
